High-energy Observations of Gamma-ray Binaries

Kwan-Lok Li (Department of Physics, National Cheng Kung University)

Gamma-ray binaries are High-Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXBs), which are composed of a massive star and a compact object (neutron star/pulsar, in most of the cases). These objects show periodic modulated X-rays and gamma-rays through the interaction between the pulsar winds and the stellar winds, although the details are not fully known yet. In this project, we will make use of X-ray observations from Swift, XMM-Newton, and/or Chandra to study some newly identified gamma-ray binaries.
