※Description:
Whether magnetic fields play a critical role in the star formation processes has been one of the most important unresolved questions in star formation. Recent ALMA observations of magnetic fields have revealed more substructure that could not be seen before with lower resolution data. In particular, some ALMA observations at disk scales show that scattering cannot be ignored, challenging the reliability of magnetic field measurements but also providing critical information on dust growth for the formation of planetesimals. Here, we would like to carefully examine ALMA data to decouple the entangled information on magnetic fields and dust properties around protostars.
