The main goal of this course is to learn how to perform optical observations and reduce imaging data with IRAF. Students in this course will go to Lulin Observatory and use the one-meter telescope (LOT) to collect some imaging data, reduce them and apply photometric calibration. In addition, a fraction of lecture time wil be spent on learning about time-serie analysis based on data collected from PTF/iPTF project.
