for the Lulin One-meter Telescope (LOT)

Proposal Deadline — 23:59 December 27, Monday, 2010

The Lulin One-meter Telescope (LOT) solicits observing proposals for the semester of 2011A, which begins on February 1st, 2011 and ends on July 31st , 2011.  Note that in the new semester, the 40-cm telescope (SLT) time is not included in this Call.

Those who are interested in applying for observing time should download the proposal LaTex package from the web page:

  http://www.astro.ncu.edu.tw/~wchen/lulinprop2011a/lotprop.tar

and submit the proposal, in PDF form, to the following email address:

  tac_lulin@astro.ncu.edu.tw

with a copy to wchen@astro.ncu.edu.tw to avoid occasional erroneous delivery:

A completed proposal in PDF should consists of the proposal form plus no more than 2 pages of Scientific Justification, including any figures, tables, and reference listing.

In addition to research proposals, we will also accept educational projects for advanced astronomical observation courses.  Time allocation will be announced by mid-January, 2011.

As before, there are two instruments available, the CCD Imager and the low-dispersion compact spectrograph.  You can follow this URL to get information regarding the telescope and instruments,

  http://www.lulin.ncu.edu.tw/lot/

At the time of this writing, the PI1300B camera, the main imager used for the LOT, has been sent to the vendor for repair, and now the U42 camera is attached to the scope.  We expect the PI1300B camera to return for service when 2011A begins.

Feel free to direct any inquiries about telescope/instrument/site to Mr Hung-Chin Lin (hclin@astro.ncu.edu.tw) , Manager of the Lulin Observatory, or about time requests to me (wchen@astro.ncu.edu.tw)
