Applications are open for the TAOvA 2023 summer student program. This is to continue the University Consortium of ALMA-Taiwan (UCAT) annual Summer student program (USSP) in previous years, but starting from this year is not limited to radio astronomy. Observational astronomy in all frequency range or theoretical astrophysics is now included, pending upon the faculty members who would sign up in the program.
Each successful applicant once matched with a faculty project shall work on a designated topic research for two months (July 3 – August 31, 2023) with a monthly stipend of NTD 20,000. In addition to working in the host institute, the student will attend lectures given by participating faculty rotating among different campuses together with other fellow students, so as to share research experience with each other. At the end of the program, each student will present a 20 to 30-minute lecture and submit a report on their research results.
To apply, please fill out and email the application form (in Word or PDF) to Ms. Wu (chial@astro.ncu.edu.tw) by March 24 (Friday). The applicant should indicate the projects of their preferences and provide up to two names for recommendation.
1st round offers will be announced by April 7 (Friday). 2nd round offers will be announced by April 21 (Friday).
