"Magnetohydrodynamics around black holes and the first result of Event Horizon Telescope"

時間/地點: 2021-05-07 14:00 [S4-1013]

摘要:

The feedback from black hole systems via accretion and jet are important phenomena in shaping the Universe. Our improving knowledge for the magnetohydrodynamics around black holes have helped to understand the balck hole accretion and jet physics. Taking into account the black hole gravity (or the curved spacetime around them), general relativistic magnetohydrodynamics (GRMHD) is a useful tool for exploring the environment around black holes. In this talk, we will go through the idea of GRMHD physics and their observable features around black holes, as well as its application/achievement for understanding the first images of the supermassive black hole at the center of M87, presented by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), a Earth-size virtual radio telescope with global efforts.
