時間/地點: 2013-10-04 14:00 [S4-1013]

摘要:

Large numbers of minor planets have been discovered within the Solar System. Most of them are main belt asteroids, which located roughly between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Another famous population of minor planets located beyond the orbit of Neptune, and called Kuiper Belt objects or Trans-Neptunian objects. A small amount of objects are called Centaurs, which have the orbital semi-major axis between four outer planets. Their dynamic lifetimes are short - only a few million years, due to the giant planet-crossing unstable orbits. The Centaurs have been consider the transitional population between Kuiper belt objects and short-period comets. In this talk, I will introduce the current knowledges of Centaurs, including their properties, dynamic, the correlation of outer planet Trojans and present some recent results from modern ground base optical sky-surveys.
