摘要:
BURSTT is low frequency, Very large Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) based radio telescope located in Taiwan. Our main station is in Fushan Botanical Garden (256 antenna) and out-triggered stations are in Nantou (64) and Green Island (64) which are also fully functional. The main motivation of this project is to detect and localize Fast Radio Burst (FRBs). FRBs are intense bursts of radio waves that last a few milliseconds and release enormous amounts of energy, sometimes equivalent to the entire solar radiation emitted in a day. They remain one of the most mysterious and exciting phenomena in astrophysics, whose exact origin is still unknown. We use ZCU216 Field Programmable Gate Aray as a first stage data receiver system and real time signal processor, which digitize, channalize, requantized and transmit 100 Gbe data to intel Xenon CPU computer as a server. We use Collaboration for Astronomical Signal Processing and Electronic Research (CASPER), an open source toolflow software to program FPGA. First stage of BURSTT have been completed and we are receiving data in real time, also we have already detected 1 FRB and many more Crab Pulsars. Now, we are working to increase the sensitivity of the BURSTT.
