[r徵才] Faculty Position in Astronomy, National Central University, Taiwan
The Graduate Institute of Astronomy at National Central University (NCU) in
Taiwan invites applications for a new faculty position beginning from August
2023. A Ph.D. in astronomy or a closely related field is required prior to the
start of the appointment. Duties include research, teaching, and service.
Candidates from all areas of observational and theoretical astrophysics are
encouraged to apply, but preference would be given to those who have
experience in optical and/or infrared astronomy. Applicants should have a
strong record of achievement in astronomy research and a commitment to
excellence in undergraduate and graduate education in astronomy. Courses
and colloquia would be conducted in English at the Institute.
Members of the Graduate Institute of Astronomy at NCU are engaged in a
wide variety of astronomical research including solar and planetary physics,
stellar astrophysics, extragalactic astronomy, and cosmology. Our institute
runs its own Lulin Observatory in Taiwan and partially operates a new 2m
telescope in Mexico. Our institute is also a consortium member of Zwicky
Transient Facilities, and participating in the Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey
of Space and Time (LSST). Faculty and students of the Institute have
competitive access to observing facilities such as the CFHT, IRTF, UKIRT,
Gemini, Subaru, JCMT, and ALMA. Further details may be found
